ASL Projection Practice Pitch
Guests can walk through an experience of interactive games for a basic approach to learning simple ASL through projections and tracking technology. Some parameters I set were wanting to have a low budget opportunity for schools or places with less funding to have this installation. All projections used are back Projections.
3 Game Set up:
Collection
Matching
Copy
With the projection media activated, guests are able to approach the interactive display on the wall and begin collecting the correct sign being highlighted. Once they have gathered 3-5 of the signs, the game will conclude and reset with a new sign for the next round, giving users the chance to play again and collect a different symbol.
Upon detecting the approaching guest, the Character springs to life with a greeting. It then sets out to explain the sign it is prompting you to replicate. Adjacent to the Character, there is a viewer that enables the user to observe themselves in real-time, ensuring accurate imitation of the Character's actions.
The game initiates when the sensor detecting the presence of guests by the wall. Cards will be flipped to reveal various signs for the guests to memorize before being flipped back. Guests are then tasked with matching the signs correctly before the game resets.
