Overview

The objective of this project is to teach the basic keying techniques in Nuke, shooting plate footage, and fabricating assets for compositing. By the end of this project, I will have a fundamental understanding of pulling a simple single-step key, the process of common screen replacement, simple animation techniques in Nuke, and the crucial fundamentals of edge integrity. Furthermore, this project will help solidify the understanding of grading, grain, and tracking.

Creative Direction

In this project, I will shoot a composition with a digital screen as the subject. The digital screen must be displaying an absolute green image, and it is recommended that the camera is static on a tripod, so we can add post-camera shake/drift. After the shoot, I will create an animation that starts inside the digital screen and breaks the frame of the digital screen creatively. Both elements will be seamlessly composited together. An example will be provided to guide the students.
