Pitch Ideas
Initial concepts with various approaches to the logo/title.
Designed in After Effects and Photoshop. Animated in After Effects.
Concept 1: Swiss
Created by: Nichole Romanoski
This style is to pay homage to earlier action, spy movies to give a different approach to the universe of John Wick. The use of positive and negative in the design will be used to distinguish both sides of the main character, Rooney.
Concept 2: Film/Composite
Created by: Nichole Romanoski
This concept is a film approach with the aspects helping to create the sense of theme for the film. Combining elegant and graceful elements of ballet with the killer side of Rooney.
Concept 3: Collage
Created by: Corey Davis
This is a film and collage approach, emphasizing the rough and real world aspects of this live action film. Taking the “new world” characteristics of collage to help build this newly included story into the films of John Wick. Incorporating elements from the characters background.
Selected Design.
First Pass
Notes: Animation is too playful. Title needs that impact moment. Hint at the elements used (gun, ballerina, bullets). Try a new composition for the second scene.
Typeface used: EB Garamond
Second Pass
Notes: First scene needs to be 2x speed (2 seconds long). Add more elements into the second scene. Add in more details like camera movements and blurs. Play with the timing of things popping onto screen

Revision
Notes: Have the logo sitting on for longer. Bring back the written type with the animated bullet. Look back at the pitched design for additional details to the final scene.
